Kansas Votes

My neighbors are going to the polls today to vote in their primary. The most important issue on the ballot, to many people is the composition of the Kansas State Board of Education. As you may know, Kansas last year forged ahead and watered down the science curriculum to discount evolution and teach the pseudo-science of "Intelligent Design."

It is a rematch of a fight we had in the 90's, and won. (I was in on that one, my children ahve high school diplomas from a Kansas high school, and were still students at that time.) The conservatives change the standards, embarass the citizenry, lose their seats, and the standards change back. Then the conservatives make a comeback and the cycle repeats. How many times are we going to do this?

And when will the conservatives learn the meaning of "theory" in scientific nomenclature?
