A Brief Moment of Sanity in the Texas Judicial System

After a short time deliberating, the jury returned with a verdict in the retraial of Andrea Yates. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the drowning deaths of her five children in the family bathtub. (Sane women son't do such things as a general rule.)

This does not mean she gets off scott free. She will spend the rest of her life in a psychiatric institution, under constant surveilance and an enforced regime of medication and other therapies.

Justice, although initially derailed, is finally served.
