Senators, See Mr. Bond for your Brown Shirts and Little Red Books

Missouri Senator Kit Bond will head the Senate Republicans PR effort to put a positive spin on NSA wiretaps, intelligence issues, and the “War on Terror.” Senator Bond will “develop and distribute talking points” to other Republican senators in an effort to try and ensure that “they are all on the same page.” Part of Bond’s new role will be to strong-arm his colleagues to address the issues he (read Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice) wants addressed in the print media, on the senate floor, and on the Sunday chat shows. (Think Tom DeLay without the thuggishness, nor, dare I say it, the effectiveness.)

Of course, virtually the only focus of this new role will be defending the indefensible…This administrations decision to cast the Constitution aside and do whatever the hell they damn well please, including spy on Americans….Especially those with the audacity to be offended about being spied on.

Republican Senators, please call Senator Bond’s office and make an appointment. The senate tailor will be measuring arms, chests and necks for the fitting of your spiffy new brown shirts through the month of February.
