Friday morning around one a.m. a DUI was issued to a female at South 71 and Longview Road. The driver blew a 0.175 - over twice the legal limit of 0.08 that Missouri has declared the blood alcohol limit that defines impaired.

Now this is a city - women and men get DUI's every day. But the person arrested in this DUI stop was Vicki Boyd, the county COMBAT Director. The COMBAT commission is the county agency that oversees substance abuse prevention and treatment programs, and it's director oversees the counties anti-drug tax.

In light of her arrest, and the nature of the charges, she should immediately resign her position and appologize to the citizens she was supposed to serve. Everyone knows that the truly effective lead by example, and Vicki, Honey - that ship has sailed.
