"Close to Kansas City"

All day long, at the top of every hour, NPR kept saying that the president was visiting Lee's Summit today, "which is close to Kansas City," and I just have to make a clarification...Lee's summit is in the same county as Kansas City, but the two cities are about as far apart as they can be socially and politically.

As a means of illustrating that point, just look at the differences in our state senate representation. They are represented by this guy, and I am represented by this woman.

Wanker of the Week

You didn't expect me to suddenly get all sweetness and light, just because I stopped picking an Idiot of the Day from the Letters to the Editor, did you?

I’m just focusing my wrath and rage where it belongs…On the Republicans in the state legislature. Every so often, we will have a Wanker of the Week. I’m proud to announce that Matt Bartle is our very first recipient of that honor. (Look for him to be a multiple winner. Just FYI.)

Matt Bartle is one of those theocrat-wannabe’s without the sense God gave a duck. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a flat-earther, he’s so backward. He is bound and determined to drag the state of Missouri back to 1735, kicking and screaming.

He wants stem cell research banned and he is filibustering the senate to keep the nomination of Warren Erdman to the Missouri Board of Curators because Erdman was a proponent of Amendment 2.

Stem cells are splitting the Republicans in this state and this Democrat is popping corn.

Matt Blunt appointed Erdman, and Erdman has bi-partisan support. But the far-right lunatic-fringe is determined to punish the Republicans who sold out God for earthly hope. Hey, let ‘em tear one another to shreds, I say.

My State Senator, Jolie Justus, is blogging Bartle’s Fillibuster of the Erdman Nomination, and she is, you know, actually there and I’m just getting my info from her blog anyway!
