Representative Jason Brown returns to Iraq

Missouri Representative Jason Brown left Friday to return to his unit in Iraq where he is a Staff Sergeant serving in a Civilian Affairs unit. SSgt. Brown was wounded a few weeks ago by enemy small-arms fire and the bullet still resides in his lung. He returned home to recuperate for a few weeks, but left today, the day after spending the holiday with his family, to return to a Baghdad that has deteriorated further, to full-scale civil war in the month he has been back home.

Representative Brown, your community salutes your service and your sacrifice and we wish you well. May you return home safely in March, as scheduled, with no tour extensions or stop-loss policies keeping you away from your wife and children and the community that has selected you to represent their interests one moment longer your orders state.
