Missouri GOP and Talent Campaign Must Appologize to the Family of Melissa Berridge

Let me take a moment to encourage everyone with a moral compas and a sense of outrage at the tactics of the Talent campaign and the Missouri Republican Party to call Senator Talent at 1-202-224-6154, and email Paul Sloca at the MOGOP headquarters to express your disgust that anyone claiming to represent you would stoop to such low-down tactics to smear an opponent. I am saddened, sickened, and disgusted by the tactics the Missouri GOP has shown itself willing to stoop to, and find myself thankful that my grandfather, a former Missouri GOP county chairman, did not live to see this day, for this behavior would kill him.

Ms. Berridge did her job. She did it very well. And she died tragically in a plane crash last weekend. Yet her body was barely cold when the Missouri GOP began a slander attack on her competence, ability and professionalism. The charges made against Ms. Berridge and the McCaskill campaign were quickly refuted, yet the Talent campaign and the Missouri GOP refuse to appologize for their outrageous behavior.

Mr. Talent claims to represent me in the United States Senate. Well, I for one demand better of anyone doing anything in MY name than the Talent campaign has shown themselves capable of. If you really represented me, Mr. Talent, you would be as saddened and humiliated as I am by the actions of your staff and your party. One word from you, and this would have all gone away.

But willful pride and the inability to admit an error appear that they will be your undoing. And if one is brought low by such things, their undoing can not come soon ehough for those they claim to act on behalf of.
