Anyone else who is as sick of that nasty, virulent malignant Michelle Malkin as I am, raise your left hand. Wow. That's a lot of people. If your newspaper carries her column, let them know that you are sick of her diatribes and hit her in the pocketbook like we did the craven Ann Coulter and the churlish Mona Charon. Neither appear on the pages of the Kansas City Star any longer, because they wrote over-the-top columns that made a preponderance of those who contacted the readers rep angry enough to threaten to cancel their subscriptions and boycott their advertisers.
Michelle Malkin's latest outrageous stance is that pictures of the aftermath of the Israeli airstrike on Qana are "posed." First it was because some wing-nut source said that bodies were taken outside to be photographed, and the reason was for dramatic effect. Really? I thought the Israeli's knocked out the power grid and therefore it stands to reason that photographs of the dead, necessary for documentation and identification later, had to be taken outside because, you know, with the power out, it was too dark inside.
Now, she is yammering on about "discredited" photos of dead children, because in the photos one of them has a pacifier pinned to his chest, and it "appears to be clean" even though his clothes are dusty. As if that matters.
Um, so what?
In her mind, we are, for this reason, apparently supposed to forget that what we are looking at is a picture of dead children. Technically, yeah, I guess the kids on that blanket were posed. They were, after all, removed from beneath tons of rubble and lovingly laid on a blanket. And in one photo, the body of the child with the "suspect pacifier" is held up by a grim-faced rescue worker known as "Green Helmet" to be photographed.
I can think of a few reasons a pacifier might appear clean. It could have been picked up and wiped off by a survivor and pinned to his shirt. It could have been wiped clean of dust by contact with the would be rescuer. Pacifiers after all would not hold dust like the weave of the cloth in the child's clothing, and I am sure that someone cradled him as they pulled him from the destruction just as that OKC firefighter was cradling Bailee Almon. Of course, no Lebanese survivor would be moved to "return" that childs pacifier in the aftermath...Only a westerner could be capable of that level of compassion, so just nix that idea out of the gate...
That a mother of a toddler can just dismiss the death of someone else's child like so much piffle, simply because the child was born on the "wrong" side of the culture divide in the middle east is sickening. I saw the same phote she did, but I am a human being. I didn't look for a reason to discount the deaths of children for political spin. I wept at the loss of life and snuffing out of potential.
I am not making excuses for yellow journalism or doctored photos, but I really don't care when that pacifier was pinned to that child's clothing, and I do not care why. That picture of those two dead little boys illustrates the stupidity of the violence that has devastated the middle east for far too long.
Only the most craven, inhuman, heartless and cold-blooded individual on the planet could write the virulent garbage she has written about this issue. She accuses Hezbollah of playing politics with dead children.
Michelle, Honey, didn't your mother tell you that when you point the finger at someone else, three are pointing back at you?
