Chinese Ambassador to UN Tells U.S. to Mind Our Own Business

The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations fired a verbal shot at U.S.-Sino relations. "It's better for the U.S. to shut up. Keep quiet. It's much, much better. China's military buildup is not threatening anyone. This is a legitimate defense.'' Ambassador Sha Zukang said in comments broadcast on the BBC.

The Chinese army is the largest fighting force in the world, and the nation is intent on building a viable naval force. They are not pursuing aircraft and troop carriers that would threaten the United States or any country that they do not share a border with, but missiles and submarines could change the way things currently work in the Taiwan Straits.

This is an unsettling turn of events, and I blame the current administration for strutting into office with guns a-blazin' and overplaying a pair of deuces on house credit. They have made such a blooming mess of so many things that they have no credibility left on the world stage and it's about 30% at home.

And just how wise is it to piss off your loan shark? How many American T-Bills are held by China? We owe the Chinese boatloads of cash and we consume Chinese goods at a phenomenal clip. They don't need a navy to rock our world, all they need to do is call their markers and wreck the economy. And Ambassador Sha was certainly aware that he could make such a statement because the balance of power has shifted and China has gained advantage.

It is time to take a big whiff of reality and accept that we are up to our asses in alligators and we have to change everything in November, or else we are totally screwed.
