Too many promises have been made and broken. Is it any surprise that employees have about as much faith in their pension plans as the Native Americans did in treaties with the white man? Makes me real fucking secure to get on an airplane and know that just last week the company ditched the pilots pension plan.
For crying out loud! Cap CEO pay at 1000 times the lowest paid employee in the company, and mandate that the fucking pensions be fully funded or the CEO’s go to jail. What has happened is tantamount to theft, and theft is punishable in criminal courts.
And while we are bringing the robber-barons to heel, lets put Feingold in charge of a “Truman Commission” that would bring military supply contractors, like Halliburton, Kellogg, Brown & Root, Bechtell, etc. to some semblance of honesty in their billing practices, or once again, CEO jail time.
Theft is theft is theft. It isn’t right that if you steal enough, and wreck enough peoples’ lives in the process, you not only get a pass, you get handsomely rewarded.
When the revolution comes (and it will be televised) should the CEO’s be the first against the wall? (Personally, I vote for the CEO’s of the insurance companies to go first, followed closely by energy executives. Who do you want to see get their come-uppance?)
