Oh Good Grief!

Has the Republican party become so craven that they need lectures on morality and ethics from Newt Gingrich of all people? Did no one else notice what a putz this guy was ten years ago? Do they think he improved with age? Next thing you know, he will be lecturing on family values and leading "Marriage Encounters."

Of course, Newt's idea of a "Marriage Encounter" is slightly different than the groups couples all over the country attend every weekend. His idea would involve an aide and a hotel room, and felatio only (selfish pig) so he could honestly say he didn't "sleep with her."

Newt had a lot of futuristic, "Brave New World" type ideas, but nothing ever came of any of them. He is so prideful and arrogant, so full of himself, so vapid for want of a better word, that he fancies himself an authority after he reads a book or three about some tangential topic or another.

Wake up Republicans. I may get assailed by my fellow Democrats for this, but what the hell? Here goes anyway. I want two honest and checked parties, engaging in actual debate that leads to solutions that will benefit the citizens of this country. (Hey! A girl can dream, can's she?) I don't want either party to have so many seats in the House and Senate that they can steamroll the opposition and make something like the "K Street Project" possible ever again.

Newt was and is an idiot, and there is no treatment for that affliction, it is lifelong. You want guidance from good, ethical Republicans? You need to be led out of the woods and into the disinfecting sunlight? You need to be instructed in Statesmanship? Why not seek out the sage advice of retired Senators Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker and Howard Baker? Makes a hell of a lot more sense than giving the bloated ego of Gingrich any kind of platform or credibility. Kinda makes you all look like putzes when you listen to a putz.

The Senators I recommend can speak to ethics and bipartisanship with authority, and I know of no one, Republican or Democrat, who thinks either of these two is an idiot.
