The Missouri Legislature, possibly sensing that their control of all three houses (Senate, House, Governors Mansion) will most likely dwindle to one in November have been some busy little bees, passing radical and backward legislation at a phe-phlippin’-nomenal clip.
Thursday, April 6, they passed a ballot initiative for November, asking voters to vote to guarantee that Missouri residents have a right to pray silently in public. Even though both sides agreed that the citizenry already had that right. Any kid with a math exam in front of him or her is more than free to send up a silent plea to the almighty that they might miraculously pass this test and therefore avoid getting grounded. That has never been in jeopardy.
You know what this is? It is political pandering at it’s finest. It is a wedge issue being placed on the ballot by the lunatic fringe in an effort to get their foam-flecked supporters to the polls in November in record numbers, in an attempt to save their sorry hides and keep their cushy lege gigs. At a cost of $50K to Missouri voters and taxpayers.
If they keep this silly shit up, I’m going to start calling the eleventh month "No"vember.
