Has it Been Worth it?

As of Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at least 1,997 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. At least 1,555 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers. The figures include five military civilians.

I am inclined to say it has not. The country was lied to, and the chicken(hawks) are coming home to roost. We are not safer, we are less safe. All of the goodwill the world bestowed upon the U.S. after the horrible attacks on American civilians on September 11, 2001 has been squandered, and for what?

I've been thinking about Napoleon lately. He found if very easy going into Russia. He found extricating himself and his army a bit more difficult...And those who don't study history are indeed doomed to repeat it.
