Has Fred Phelps Finally Gone too Far?

I have the dubious honor of having attended the first funeral Fred Phelps protested. I had a classmate at Wichita State University named Laurent Langlois, who was a talented musician, a gifted actor, and a homosexual. He died of AIDS, and his funeral in Wichita was the first one protested by the Phelps crew. I will never forget the hatred and vitriol, spit flying from his mouth as he and his followers screamed insults at us as we left the church where Laurent's service was held. For me, the final shred of agnosticism fell away and turned to atheism at that moment.

Mr. Phelps gained some national (negative) attention when he protested the funeral of Matthew Shephard. It isn't enough that Mr. Phelps and his ilk want homosexuals dead, they want to deny them a decent burial as well? And he calls himself a man of God?

Well, now this so-called "man of God" is protesting the funerals of fallen soldiers. They are undeserving of a decent burial because our country has been cowed by the gay agenda and that is why our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines are dying, and they deserve it too! They wear the uniform of a country that doesn't round up the fags and frag 'em on spec!

I hope Mr. Phelps dies soon, so I can go protest his funeral. Wearing a red dress.
