Time for Blunt-Bashing

Ach! Where to start! Matt (The Boy Blunder) Blunt, the Republican governor of Missouri has achieved a whopping 60% disapproval by the citizens of the state. Has he decided at this early date that his chances of re-election is nil? So he's just going balls-to-the-wall and fuck us all?

Patients on medicaid receiving chemotherapy have been cut off in mid treatment because of medicaid cuts. Children whose parents earn more than $383 dollars a month lost all benefits. We are dead-last in most categories of childrens services.

Public health funding has been slashed. This doesn't matter to the Governor. He and wife Melanie are the parents of a new baby boy, perfectly healthy, who will never experience a moment of want of need. Nor will he rely on a public health clinic for his vaccinations and well-child care. His mother is not assuring him quality nutrition with the help of WIC vouchers. The state chef is pureeing his baby-food to mom's rigid spec's, I'm sure.

I do not wish any ill to the Governor and his family. I just wish he felt that all of the children of Missouri were as important as his child, because they are to someone. They just aren't important to him. Otherwise he would have found something to cut besides WIC, Medicaid for kids, child care subsidies, and the USDA food program.

All this belt tightening, and he is still buying a new multi-million dollar state jet to carry him on his frequent jaunts around the country to hob-nob with influential friends of his father, Representative Roy Blunt (D-K Street), one of Tom DeLays most loyal minions and strangest bedfellows.

And he keeps trying to privatize state services that prevent disasters .(Hasn't he been paying attention since August 28th?) He sat down with the Convenience store lobby and had a slice of pie and promised to oppose further increases in the tobacco tax. He also promised them he would privatize the inspections of underground gas tanks at service stations and convenience stores, relieving the Missouri department responsible for environmental regulation and enforcements of that extremely important job that I do not trust to his cronies. It's too important! His kid probably drinks pure spring water, but not every kid is so lucky, and shoddy inspections will allow leaky tanks to keep on leaking and poisoning the ground water that makes it's way out of the tap and into the food and beverage of many, many Missouri children.

I have to leave right now - I'm physically becoming ill at the damage this man has done. If I don't stop now I will get a migraine and take the meds that make me worthless for two days.
