Obama just moved way up on my Respect-o-Meter

Dunno what John Howard (Australian PM) was expecting when he offered his feeble-minded assessment that terrorist leaders ought to be hoping that Barack Obama would take the White House next year, given Obama’s pledge to end the war in Iraq.
Obama didn’t waste any time, he got right down to business and bitch-slapped Howard’s impotent ass. He pointed out that the United States has 140,000 troops in Iraq, and Australia has all of 1400. [We have 2.5 X that many dead, Mr. Howard, so kindly go fuck yourself raw, won’t you?]
Senator Obama allowed that if Howard is so ginned up for the fight, he should put his Army where his mouth is, and send an additional 20,000 Australians into the fight, or he should shut the fuck up.
Okay, Obama didn’t say “or shut the fuck up” He said that if he (Howard) doesn’t send an “Australian Surge” it was just [more] empty [pathetic and flaccid war-mongering] rhetoric [by some limp-dick bastard who needs to get his war on to get his dick hard].
I said he told him to shut the fuck up. Which is exactly what I would have said (and indeed did say). My red head does override my decorum on a regular basis, but big fucking deal, I say. I'm no longer bound by protocol. So that’s reason number 976 why I’m not now and never will be electable. (With 975 other reasons out there, I’m not changing a fucking thing. h/t Strannix)
Let Barack Obama be diplomatic in his bitch slapping activities. There are legions of us who are already pissed off royally. We’ll have no compunctions or regrets later about calling on the carpet those dipshits who desperately need it, and we’ll take glee in hanging them by their own entrails.
John Howard-rhymes-with-coward, you’ll be sending a few brigades to Anbar in the wake of your remarks, right? Or issuing an apology? Those are the only two options you have, Shrimp-on-the-Barbie.
So c'mon, Johnny Coward - get your contrition as ginned up as your indignation and faux outrage, you war-mongering asshole, because you ain’t surging troops, are ya, Coward?

Liz Cheney on the WaPo Editorial Page

The Spawn of Satan was given a spot on the editorial page of the Washington Post today, and boy does she never fail to disappoint! She chugs the Kool-Aid and churns out a propaganda piece that would make Brezhnev blush. And I can only assume it was aimed at the 28% that comprises the Armageddons-a-comin' crowd because I have read more cogent arguments from 12-year-olds. The kindest descriptives I can muster are vapid, insipid, trite and vacuous. Proof once more that a world-class education can be, and indeed often is, wasted on it's beneficiaries.

Let's parse her *points* and rip her to shreds, shall we?

Let's start with the real reason she wrote this. Reasons, actually. First, it was a generic drive-by smear against Hillary Clinton, who came back from a trip to Iraq speaking out about the ab-surge-ity that Bush is advocating; election be damned.

But the main reason is more below the surface - it's written at a the level of a 12-year old because it's the talking points for the dead-enders - and that is about their level of comprehension. If they were not uneducable, they wouldn't be continuing to ingest the spoon-fed poison dished up by this administration.

We are at war. America faces an existential threat. Really? I thought the military was at war, and America was at the mall. As to the existential threat she wants us all to set our hair on fire about - Bullshit. Any *existential threat* our nation faces is due to undermining the Constitution, suspending Habeas Corpus, the Insurrection Acts of 1807 and Posse Comitatus. The threat to America is from her president and her father and the fools who follow them. Terrorism is a tactic, it is not an entity, and fighting this tactic militarily is just, well, stupid.

Quitting helps the terrorists. Don't take my word for it. Read the plans of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and Ayman Zawahiri to drive America from Iraq, establish a base for al-Qaeda and spread jihad across the Middle East. Don't worry, you miserable bitch, I wouldn't take your word that the sky is blue. if you said it, I would go outside and look up. Zarqawi is dead, so scratch him off the list-o-threats. Let's all remember, as well, that al Qa'eda is a Sunni organization, and Iraq is majority Shi'ite. That civil war in Iraq? It's between Sunni and Shia. Anyone who believes that the Shia would stand for an al Qa'eda takeover of their country should contact me immediately, because I have millions sitting in a bank in Nigeria that I need your help and $50,000 dollars to retrieve...

Beware the polls. In November the American people expressed serious concerns about Iraq (and about Republican corruption and scandals). They did not say that they want us to lose this war. They did not say that they want us to allow Iraq to become a base for al-Qaeda to conduct global terrorist operations. They did not say that they would rather we fight the terrorists here at home. Until you see a poll that asks those questions, don't use election results as an excuse to retreat. Anyone catch that whiff of desperation? A Republican snatches at the straw of Republican corruption, claiming that was more to blame for the electoral disaster the Republicans were handed than the war. Anyone remember the post-election analysis and exit polling? It was about the war!!! Here is the defining race that crystallized that point: The Kansas 02, home to Fort Leavenworth and Fort Riley, tossed Jim Ryun out on his ass and installed Democrat Nancy Boyda. Listen up, bitch. We took a poll in November - the only poll that matters - and the results weren't what you wanted, so you tell us to "beware the polls." Oh for fucks sake. Grow up and deal. The jig is up and you guys have been repudiated. As for that "fighting them there, rather than here" bullshit...Did you ever play sports? I did. Still do in fact. Homefield advantage is not to be underestimated. We fought them here at home just fine prior to the cock-up that is Iraq and the travesty that is the Bush presidency. We caught the first WTC attackers without a Patriot Act, without suspending Habeas and without launching an illegal war. Of course, we used to have a President, not some fucking idiot who dismissed the August 6 Presidential Daily Briefing with an "Okay, you've covered your ass now." And then cleared brush rather than attempting to prevent the attacks of September 11, 2001. Personally, I would rather be the one who can fade into the populace, rather than a sitting duck.

Retreat from Iraq hurts us in the broader war. We are fighting the war on terrorism with allies across the globe Allies are bailing right and left because of the incompetence and fecklessness of her Daddy's war-mongering. The War on Terror™ and the war in Iraq are two separate and distinct entities, and conflating them is the height of intellectual dishonesty.

What about Iran? There is no doubt that an American retreat from Iraq will embolden Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Read a fucking newspaper. Ahmadinejad is a figurehead, and a fading one at that. The only reason he was ever allowed to be ensconsed was to stick a thumb in Bush's eye after that Axis of Evil crap. Iranians dished up a thumpin' for him along the lines of the one Bushbaby took.

Our soldiers will win if we let them. Read their blogs. Talk to them. Fine. Here is a comment left on the 75th page of overwhelmingly negative comment to your piece on the WaPo website in response to your blathering, and I will let this soldier have the last word:
Since you decided to invoke soldiers and what we think, I will tell you: Liz Cheney, you're an idiot. You have no idea what you're talking about. I could go on and on about every point you make here, but in particular Ill address your comments about the courage those of us who have actually been to war unlike you, your father, the president, etc.. Of course terrorists cant beat us militarily, but guess what. They're beating us. Why? Its not a military victory were looking for. Its a PR fight. Its hearts and minds. If you had ever been there, or knew anyone closely who had, you'd know its a counterinsugency, and I can only assume from your column that you know nothing about counterinsurgency. Its easy to talk tough when you have no personal stake in the fight at all. You have evidenced a complete misunderstanding of this conflict, and all of us in uniform would be better served if you either educated yourself on the issue, or you just shut up. This administration has left those of us fighting this war out in the cold at every opportunity, from resources in the field to VA funding to brain injury research. How dare you try to use our collective voice to support a policy and an administration that don't support us.Jan 23, 2007 3:08:34 PM

Our Idiot Spotlight Shines Early This Month

Let’s not wait for 30th to roll around to annoint our Jackass O’ the Month. Not when some moron like David Napoli of Kansas City is walking around without a helmet and not merely willing to say stupid shit on a barstool, but to write ‘em down and send ‘em to the paper and sign his name to ‘em. Without further delay, I absolutely must share this man’s pathology with you all:

"It seems that many of our legislators and journalists and commentators are terrible historians. They don’t remember what happened in Vietnam. We lost that war, but we didn’t lose it over there. We lost it in Washington D.C., and in the media. The Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese knew what was going on here with the protests and the bad press. Because of this, all they had to do was wait us out. And that is what they did.
Now we see the same thing in Iraq. So many members of Congress are wanting us out, and the media is providing as much bad press as possible. The insurgents know that this is going on here, meaning in Washington and in the media. This encourages them to continue fighting. They, too, figure all they have to do is keep the pressure on and wait us out.

Sooner or later, those in Washington will lose their willpower, and we will put our tails between our legs and run. Shades of Nam."

David Napoli
Kansas City

I just love how fucking jerks who haven’t donned a uniform since Cub Scouts have all the answers; ascertained from their Barcaloungers in front of their Plasma screen power-suckers tuned perpetually to Faux News.

Where to start? How about with History, since he so thoughtfully brought it up? The history of Viet Nam predates 1954 when Eisenhower sent the first advisors, by the way, you useless worm. One of those advisors was my father, who did three tours in Viet Nam, so I got some game here. Sure you want to go round with me on this one? I’ll think more of you if you slink away quietly now. Fair warning – My dad taught me things he learned from Charlie and I do not fight fair. If you persist, I will smear your blood on my face and dance gleefully over your eviscerated corpse.

The United States didn’t learn anything from history before they got involved in Viet Nam. You think this tribe o’ morons is any better versed? If so, see Nurse Ratched for your medications immediately! Remember the French fiasco in southeast asia? The only reason we got involved in the first place was because of American hubris and sanctimony, which set the stage to sell a false fear of a “Domino Theory” of communism during cold-war hysteria. Didn’t quite work the way the think-tanks told us it would. (Things usually don't go the way the think-tanks assure us they will.) Well, here we are in 2006 and it turns out Australia isn’t a communist country after all, even though we did lose Viet Nam.

But lets take him down point by point, rather than ranting at random.

We lost that war, but we didn’t lose it over there. We lost it in Washington D.C., and in the media. Back then we had a word for a press that only told it’s readers what the government sanctioned the citizens hearing. It was called propaganda and it was - is – a dirty word. Still. TASS and PRAVDA were the two big examples of propaganda tools and they were held up to Americans as examples of what happens when the government controls the press and tells the people what they want them to hear. I went to military schools. A free press was a big deal and preservation of a free press was one of the things worth dying for.

By Mr. Napoli’s "logic" (isn’t that a fascist name, by the way?) we could have won that ill-advised pissing contest if the press had just been silenced. Of course it would have taken a lot more than 58,000 dead Americans to silence the press. Moron point number one, dealt with.

Because of this, all they had to do was wait us out. And that is what they did.

Oy mother fucking vey. Occupiers are always waited out by the occupied. Read history much? Oh yeah, we already dispensed with that - the answer is a resounding "NO." You brought up history, so choke on this bit of historical fact: The Brits went into Iraq in 1917, selling the war to the British populace as a humanitarian effort – the troops would be greeted with flowers and as liberators. It would take weeks, tops. Didn’t quite happen that way. Forty fucking years later they limped out of Iraq, the Royal Army broken and the royal treasury broke. Moron point number two: Dismissed.

Members of congress have access to intel that you don’t, and neither do Bill O’Reilly and Tucker Carleson, you blooming idiot. They know the folly and the futility. And lets get back to propaganda. Is that what you want? A nation that was led to war by lies kept in perpetual war by more lies, perpetrated by a “patriotic press” willing to propagate any lie to further the government’s specious cause? Faux News is doing a good job of catapulting that propaganda. But it isn't news. Moron point number three: Hardly worth acknowledging.

Sooner or later, those in Washington will lose their willpower, and we will put our tails between our legs and run. Shades of Nam.

Here there is only one think to say…Fuck You! Put your own ass on the line, or get some skin in the game – send your kids, it’s such a glorious fight to be participating in. Or just shut the fuck up. Whichever. I could not possibly care less, so long as you do one or the other.

As a member of a family that comprises that professional Warrior class you and your ilk so easily take for granted and dismiss as cannon-fodder, but which allows you to sleep soundly at night, I can say without a bit of regret, you are a fucking asshole with nothing on the line and your opinion means less than zero to me and others who do have a stake in the fight. You are a fool, a warmonger, a chickenhawk and a feckless waste of humanity. You, I can hate with little effort, and that you stir that emotion in me makes me even angrier, because I do not wish to hate anyone, even ignorant jackasses. I would much rather pity your ignorance, or even be amused at your expense, but some people are just too stupid and wrong to be amusing or pitied. You are one of them.

Your best possible service to humanity is as an organ donor, and the sooner the better. Take up extreme sports immediately, and forgo the protective gear. Do it for the good of humanity.

Meantime, David Napoli, while we await that fatal skull fracture, you need to shag your ignorant ass back to whatever middle-school let you leave and demand that you receive the eighth-grade social studies education that you deserved to receive when you were a student; that eighth grade social studies curriculum that would all by itself keep you from looking like such a monumental jackass on the editorial page of a major daily newspaper.
