We have a Village Idiot for Tuesday

Guys, I'm tired, and I'm going to bed. But I wanted to throw the night-owls some red meat. If this guy still has an ass when I get home from school in the afternoon, I'll tear him up then. But I'm counting on you all to take care of my light work.

So...Without further adieu, I give you Connor Buchanan - your Idiot of the Day.
Unfair to president

I want to thank The Star for once again showing just how petty and ill-informed the Bush bashers are.

“Maimer in chief,” “emperor” and “evil” were some of the adjectives used to describe the president in Letters recently (10/26), which only proves that those who can’t articulate a valid opinion resort to name calling.

Grow up, people. Disagree with some (as I do) or all of his policies, but don’t act like spoiled children.

One last thing: Unlike President Bush, President Bill Clinton actually did lie and therefore deserves all the bashing he received.

Okay, lets spank this child and put him to bed with no dessert.

The Bush Bashers, or the "reality based community" as the neo-thugs disparagingly refer to us, are not "petty" and "ill-informed", Connor.

Emperor is what one calls a leader with imperial aspirations. When a president abrogates the Constitution, does away with the dictum of Habeas Corpus that has been a cornerstone of the common law tradition since the year 1215...When a president makes secret changes to the Posse Commitatus and Insurrection Acts, with no discussion or debate - that is imperial aspirations. If the shoe fits...

Evil comes immediately to mind when one thinks about telling lies that get hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed and nearly 3000 American troops passage home in a flag-draped box. Yeah, thats the epitome of evil.

Maimer in Chief may conjur nasty images, but the truth often does.

Here was one of my favorite bits: ...those who can’t articulate a valid opinion resort to name calling.

Just curious about something Connor...Has this always been your position? Or did you just adopt the cloak of civility when Democrats started hitting back? Maybe I'm cynical, but I will bet money you laughed like a little girl when Rush Limbaugh called a 13-year-old Chelsea Clinton the White House Dog and held up her picture on his TV show. Be honest - you did, didn't you? It's only funny when the other guys ox is getting gored, isn't it? I might be more inclined to believe the sudden pleas to civil discourse if you asshats hadn't been the ones who poisoned the well. Now your words just sound like those of a whiny, snot-nosed loser.

And Connor - click on a site besides Little Green Footballs or Instapundit or The Corner. Why is it that entire websites are dedicated to the lies of George Bush? And Connor, if you ever found anyone to give you a blowjob; what would be your first impulse when asked about it? Exactly.

But my favorite Bush appologists are the ones who say "I disagree with him too, but..."

I call bullshit. If you can appologize for this miserable waste of skin now, after all he has done, you are a voluntarily ignorant bootlicker. You are an ass-kisser of the first order, and just as guilty as he is of the crimes he has perpetrated against this country and against humanity. In fact, you are worse, because you enable him.

Thanks for playing.

We have a Village Idiot today

Control immigration

Republicans should control Congress after the elections because they offer the best chance of controlling immigration.
B.J. Blackerby,Parkville

I know, I know. I said I was going to knock off annointing an Idiot of the Day, but some days, like today I just can't resist.
All one needs to do is look at the chart on the left to see that the lie has been put to this meme.
Immigrants, both legal and illegal come here for economic reasons. As long as businesses hire illegals they will come. As long as the federal authorities turn a blind eye and don't prosecute businesses that hire these undocumented workers, they will continue to do so. That is a no-brainer to most people who actually, you know, posess a working thinking apparatus.
I wish this chart went back a couple of years farther, to show the contrast with Clinton vs. Bush 41. When Clinton came into office, prosecution of businesses hiring undocumented aliens spiked as the real culprits were taken to task. Prosecution of businesses went from a couple of hundred per year to approximately 1500 per year. The numbers fell as businesses realized they would be held accountable for their hiring practices. When Bush 43 came into office, installed by big bidness, prosecutions of these businesses dropped steadily, to the point that a whopping three were prosecuted for hiring undocumented labor in 2004.
Now who is it that can be trusted with immigration issues again? You were saying Mr. Blackerby?
