Get Well Soon, Molly...We Need You!!!

Today the news I have been sitting on for a couple of months was made public. Molly Ivins is once again fighting breast cancer. Betsy Moon, Ms. Ivins assistant told the Associated Press today that Molly has been hospitalized, but will most likely be released on Monday. "That's the day the doctors said. We're not sure what's going to happen, but she's very sick."

When she was first diagnosed in 1999, the public outpouring was so great that when she came out of remission in 2003, and again in 2005, she didn't tell her readers.

Typically pugnacious, Molly isn't giving in to cancer. "Maybe this is false bravado," she said in the Austin American-Statesman last year. "In some ways for me, this is like having a manageable disease. It's like diabetes. It doesn't mean it's not going to come get me in the end."

Get well soon, Molly. We can not afford t lose the worlds foremost practitioner of the Texas-style ass-whoopin' now. We have a president to oppose and a war to stop, and we need your help.

And you readers: Take her advice...Fill the streets tomorrow. Bang on pots and pans, yell at the top of your lungs, demand your leaders listen. It's up to us, and as Molly says, "That's you and me, Bubba."
